How do you know if you have bad posture? Here are some things to look for:

  1. Do you have rounded shoulders?
  2. Do you carry your head forward past your shoulders?
  3. Is one shoulder lower then the other?
  4. Is your upper back rounded?
  5. Do you have a hump at the top of your back?
  6. Does your pelvis (hips) shift forward?

Bad posture can cause shifts on your spinal bones, pressure on your nerves and discs and tension on your muscles.

Often times, bad posture leads to:

  1. Neck pains
  2. Back pains
  3. Headaches
  4. Fatigue
  5. Lack of energy
  6. Muscles tension and tightness
  7. Limited mobility
  8. Spinal degeneration / arthritis

Some simple changes in your daily activities help prevent postural problems from developing or progressing, like:

  1. Correcting your computer station/desk for optimum ergonomics.
  2. Avoid flexing or bending your neck when you text or use your smart phone or tablet devices.
  3. Sleeping with a good pillow.
