Chiropractic Pregnancy Care
What is Webster Technique?
Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and a specific chiropractic sacral adjustment. The objective of Webster technique and the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation and pelvic dysfunction. This helps facilitate neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis.
What does this mean for the pregnant mom? Chiropractic care and Webster Technique during pregnancy helps improve nervous system function, helps improve spinal and pelvic function, providing greater health potential for both the mother and the baby.
Chiropractic care and the specific use of Webster Technique may help facilitate easier, safer births for both baby and mother.
Webster Technique can be applied in the care of any weight bearing person (i.e., pregnant or not, males and females, and children) as a valid sacral analysis and adjustment.
Does the chiropractor offer Webster Technique?
Yes, Dr. Walter Salubro is certified in Webster Technique by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Chiropractic care is safe during pregnancy. Chiropractic adjustments are gentle, requiring very little force to make a spinal correction in the pregnant woman.
When can I start chiropractic care when I’m pregnant?
Chiropractic care can start anytime during pregnancy, from the time of conception to the time of birthing.
How can I lay down on my stomach on the chiropractic table when I am in my second or third trimester?
You will be laying down on a pregnancy pillow. This is a specially designed, thick, spongy pillow with a cut-out in the center so you can comfortably lay down on your stomach without pressing into your belly.
Children Chiropractic Care
Is chiropractic care for children safe?
Yes. Practice-based research studies have shown that chiropractic care for children is safe. Adjustments in infants and children are modified and delivered gently.
When should I bring my child to the chiropractor?
Your child need not have any health problems to see a chiropractor. A chiropractor examines for spinal misalignments (vertebral subluxations). Children may have spinal misalignments that may have been caused by falls, birth trauma, sitting in front of a computer or video game, carrying backpacks or from conditions like scoliosis and postural problems. A spine free of misalignments is essential for optimal nervous system function and optimal health. For this reason, a child, like an adult, should be checked for spinal misalignments by a chiropractor. You can bring your child to the chiropractor at any age, from new born to teen age.
